(Update) BAGHDAD, Iraq – Forty-six (46) persons were dead while fifty-two (52) wounded in a suicide bomber attack in Baghdad, which was the capital of Iraq.

According to Iraqi police, the target of the suspect was the government-backed Sunni militia members who were falling in line to get their salary.

It was known that the Sunni militia fighters were already known as Sahwa or “Sons of Iraq” and had a connection once with al-Qaeda.

Those killed included six (6) soldiers and three (3) accountants while thirteen (13) soldiers and four (4) accountants were wounded.

“There were more than 85 people lined up in three lines at the main gate of the military base to receive salaries when a person approached us. When one of the soldiers tried to stop him, he blew himself up,” according to a 20-year old survivor Tayseer Mehsen while in the hospital.

It was known that after the election in Baghdad, there had been a continuous violence in their country.

– July 7: bombings that targets the Shia pilgrims in a festival in Baghdad (40 persons dead)

– July 18: 46 dead in a suicide attack

JAKARTA, Indonesia – Papua New Guinea was trembled with strong earthquake this morning.

According to Indonesian Meteorological and Geophysics Agency, a magnitude of 7.2 earthquake 503 kilometers north-east of Portmoresby with a depth of 77 kilometers was recorded.

But according to the US Geological Survey, the earthquake was only recorded at magnitude 6.9.

Although there were no reports about tsunami warning, the Pacific Tsunami Warning Center have already warned that it may cause a local tsunami.

There were no damages reported brought by the said earthquake.
